Assoc. Prof. Priv.-Doz. DDr. Philipp Staber (October 4th, 2013)
Prof. Philipp Staber did his PostDoc at the Havard Medical School from 2009 to 2013. In this time, he visited our institute in Vienna. In his seminar lecture he presented us an overview of functions of non-coding RNA in leukemias. Currently, he is Associate Professor and Program Director of Lymphoma and CLL at the Medical University of Vienna.
Prof. Elisabeth Paietta (September 4th, 2013)
It was a pleasure to meet Prof. Elisabeth Paietta from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. As part of our LBI joint seminars, she gave a very interesting and informative presentation about "Leukemic and Preleukemic Neoplastic Stem Cells as Source of MRD in acute Leukemia", followed by a fruitful discussion.
Prof. Dr. Dominik Wolf (August 9th, 2013)
It was a great pleasure to welcome Prof. Dr. Dominik Wolf from the University Hospital Bonn, Germany in the general hospital of Vienna. He gave a very interesting talk about "The role of the immune system in the development and evolution of CML and other MPN” followed by a fruitful discussion.
Prof. Dr. Karin Hartmann (July 26th, 2013)
Dr. Karin Hartmann, an expert in cutaneous Mastocytosis, gave a talk about “Mastocytosis in the skin: new concepts in basic science and clinical research”. She is also a member of the European Competence Network on Mastocytosis (ECNM) and an important collaboration partner of our research group.
Prof. Dr. Peter Bettelheim (July 7th, 2013)
Prof. Peter Bettelheim (Elisabethinen Hospital Linz, Austria) is a long-standing collaboration partner of our research group. In his seminar today he presented an overview of erythropoiesis, followed by his own data on how erythropoiesis is altered in the development of myelodysplastic syndromes. Special focus of the presentation was the aberrant expression of cell surface markers.
