LBI HO Contribution to the Blue Book of the WHO
The latest edition of the Blue Book of the WHO, titled the ‘Classification of Tumours of Haematopoietic and Lymphoid Tissues’, is now available.
The basic concept of the classification of mastocytosis has in part been developed in Vienna.
Prof. Peter Valent, who is scientific coordinator of the LBI HO (formerly LBC ONC), served also as the coordinator of the consensus group that developed the criteria and the WHO classification of mastocytosis in the past. This group has again contributed essentially and supported the WHO in the current update of the classification in 2017.
