“My LBG Moment – 60 Years Ludwig Boltzmann Gesellschaft” Award
A former staff member of the LBI HO, Prof. Dr. Heidrun Karlic was awarded the “Viennese Snow Globe” featuring a portrait of Ludwig Boltzmann (see image below) in the “My LBG Moment – 60 years Ludwig Boltzmann Gesellschaft” competition. Her text was selected as one of the best among 70 submissions.
The award might also be a gesture of appreciation for having founded a molecular biology working group in the LBI for Leukemia Research under the previous Director of the LBI, Prof. Dr. Alois Stacher, more than 30 years ago. Prof. Karlic had been a loyal member of the LBG and LBI HO until her retirement. It should also be mentioned that our LBI HO was based in part on the former LBI for Leukemia Research at Hanusch Hospital and that an excellent and productive cooperation with the former employees of the LBI for Leukemia Research is still ongoing.
